8x - 1 = 159 - 16y

Explanation:

1/4x=5-1/2 y what is the value of 8x-1

Beginning from the given equation, we will find the required

Which mean, we will transform the left hand side (1/4 x) to (8x-1)

  multiply both sides by 4

∴ x = 20 - 2y

multiply both sides by 8

∴ 8x = 8 * ( 20 - 2y)

∴ 8x = 160 - 16y

Subtract 1 from both sides

8x - 1 = 160 - 16y - 1

∴ 8x - 1 = 159 - 16y

So, the value of 8x - 1 = 159 - 16y
