Let's label the origin O.

we are told that quadrilateral PQRS is rotated 90 degrees clockwise (i.e to the left) and the center of rotation is the origin (0,0)  which we now call "O".

What this results in is the new quadrilateral P'Q'R'S'  (i have drawn this in the attached picture).

We can clearly see that point P (-1,-2), after undergoing a 90deg clockwise rotation will result in P' (2,1)

hence the y-ordinate of P' is 1
