I don’t know what you want to measure but in geography I only know these two:
Amplitude
The distance between an extreme position and a zero position in a swinging motion. Also corresponds to sea waves, the distance between the wave crest and its central position and constitutes half the wave height.
Richter scale
Used to indicate how strong earthquakes can be
