They were bought up to obey their parents and be like their mother,poor girls would follow their mothers into cooking and caring for the house,if they were in the country this would probably mean tending to animals,and helping her mother with whatever she was asked to do,education was for boys so girls were just taught to read and write by their mother,they were bought up in the richer households to learn music,dance and get ready for marriage.
