Yes its true

Given number is 496

Rounding to nearest 10

The 1st digit place is 6 which is greater than 5 hence it will be rounded upto nearest 10th i.e 500.

Rounding to nearest 100

  • 96 is clearly seems to be closer to 500 hence it will be rounded up to 500.

Hence proved.
