What are the Inventions that changed the world, and why?

i think some of the greatest inventions are telephone, light bulb, internet, and cars. all of these have affected us and benefitted us in so many ways and if we didnt have these things, life would be drastically different. especially the telephone. if we didnt have them, we would have to write letters and wait days for a response compared to minutes or even seconds.
