A gardener is putting a fence around his garden. His garden is 6 feet long and 2 feet wide. How many feet of fence does he need?

Answer:  16 feet

Work Shown:

L = 6 = length

W = 2 = width

P = 2(L+W)

P = 2(6+2)

P = 2(8)

P = 16 feet of fencing is needed

An alternative formula is P = 2L+2W
