The appropriate response is a complete predicate. A sentence can be partitioned into two parts: the entire subject and the total predicate. The entire subject is comprised of the considerable number of words that tell who or what really matters to the sentence. The entire predicate incorporates the verb and every one of the words that tell what occurred in the sentence.
