x+y=46.4 
x-y=3.2 
solving for y
3.2+y=x 
substitute
3.2+y+y=46.4 
simplify 
3.2+2y=46.4 
solve for y 
y=(46.4-3.2)/2 
y=21.6 
put y into equation 
x+y=46.4 
x+21.6=46.4 
x=46.4-21.6 
x=24.8 

your two numbers are 24.8 and 21.6
