How did the reformation promote the idea of individualism?

The virtue of personal independence and self-reliance and believing in the importance of the individual is called Individualism which was central to the Protestant Reformation, and its centrality cannot be exaggerated. The Reformation promotes the idea of individualism through people encouragement to create their own religious judgements and through the new churches that was establish by the Protestants.
