ANSWER

[tex]P(Q \: and \: R)=0.0608[/tex]

It was given that,

[tex]P(Q) = 0.32[/tex]
and

[tex]P(R) = 0.19[/tex]

Events Q and R and independent events if and only if

[tex]P(Q \: and \: R)=P(Q) \times P(R)[/tex]

We therefore substitute the respective probabilities to obtain,

[tex]P(Q \: and \: R) = 0.32\times0.19[/tex]

[tex]P(Q \: and \: R)=0.0608[/tex]
