3/4 and 2/3 need to be converted.

4&3 both have the same multiple of 12. So both denominators become 12. For 3/4 you multiply 4 by 3 to get 12, so you also have to multiply 3 by 3 (to get 9) because you multiplied 4 by 3.(3/4 = 9/12)

Max = For 2/3 you multiply 3 by 4 to get 12, so you multiply 2 by 4. (2/3 = 8/12)

So Max painted 8/12 of the room.
