The Treaty of Versailles placed a heavy toll on Germany, and with their failing economy, and when the US stopped loaning them money, the German economy plummeted to the lowest. At this point, Hitler rose to power, and was able to make the economy turn towards a good (by employing people in the military), and so people started to believe him. Without the Great Depression, Hitler would not have been able to rise to power, because with stability, there would be no reason to have another war.

hope this helps
